FOCIP Winter/Spring Walk Program

SATURDAY, JUNE 1st; BARNUM POINT COUNTY PARK:

The newest Island County Park has been fully open for 5 years.  The walk is about 3.3 miles.  Great views, wetlands, viewing platforms and benches fill this trail experience.  A large parking lot allows for several visitors and there will be extra parking at the Island County workshop and storage areas.  Two accesses to the beach exist, one down a beach road at the East end of the trail system and a more level approach at the West end of the trail system.  Meet at 9:45 AM at the new parking area located at the end of Sunrise Road.  (East Camano Road to Russell Road to Sunrise Road)

This is the Final Winter/Spring Walk of the season. Walks will resume in November.

Legacy Ukulele Ensemble Concert at 7:30 PM — Donation – at the door

The Legacy Ukulele Ensemble is a group of 12 players from America and Canada directed by internationally renowned ukulele teacher Peter Luongo. Since September of 2016, the group has been featured at several ukulele festivals and shows and has held multiple tours. The members are committed to developing their music literacy, musicianship, and vocal skills. The group’s repertoire of 35 arrangements includes Hawaiian, classical, ethnic, folk, rock, pop, and country pieces.

*** I joined the group in 2022 and since our Pacific Northwest Tour coincides with the Camano Wildlife Project’s third Wednesday of the month program, i thought here is the perfect opportunity to combine my two passions — protecting wildlife habitat and playing my ukulele. Check us out at https://www.legacyukes.com for a preview. I hope you can join the fun on June 19!
