“Plants for Pollinators”

Brenda will introduce you to the most popular native plants for home landscaping and talk about where to find these and more unusual plants, as well as how to do some of your own propagating.

Brenda Cunningham is a biologist and artist. She has worked for the National Park Service and the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife. She retired as Stewardship Director for the Skagit Land Trust. She now manages the Washington Native Plant Society’s display garden in Mount Vernon and is a Master Gardener. She is a member of Skagit Audubon Society and former chair of the Salal Chapter of Washington Native Plant Society.



Meet at 9:45 AM at Ivy Road cul-de-sac trailhead off Dry Lake Road.  Access Dry Lake Road from East Camano Road or Monticello Road.  Walk from the trailhead parking area to the South Beach of Camano Island State Park along the Cross Island and West Rim Trails enjoying downhill and level terrains with great views. The walk is about 3.2 miles. Shuttle service will be available to return participants to the trailhead.  The trails are generally level with a few short ups and downs.
